Heavy rain alert in 3 places of Odisha, Yellow warning issued to 18 districts

Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for thunderstorm and lightning issued for 18 districts of Odisha.

The weather department also informed that a heavy rain alert has been predicted in Angul, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts.

The southwest monsoon has prevailed over six districts of Odisha including Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi and Rayagada.

As of now, the spells of rain has not been witnessed in three districts. Similarly, the minimum rain has been recorded in 13 districts of Odisha, added MeT.

However, the MeT has also tweeted that the conditions are favourable for the advancement of #Monsoon in several parts of Odisha in the next 2-3 days.

According to the weatherman, the yellow warning for thunderstorms with lightning has been issued to the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri,, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nayagarh and Khurda. during the next 24 hours.
