In a heart-wrenching incident, a four-year-old boy became orphan as his parents were killed in a hit-and-run case in Odisha’s Cuttack district today.
Cuttack: In a heart-wrenching incident, a four-year-old boy became orphan as his parents were killed in a hit-and-run case in Odisha’s Cuttack district today.
One Anirudha Jena (40) of Puran village of Mahana panchayat under Salipur police limits of the district along with his wife Ritanjali Jena (35) and minor son had gone to Sakshigopal temple in Puri district on his bike for the darshan of the deities.
However, an unidentified truck hit them at Nrusingha Bazar and fled while they were returning in the evening. Some locals rescued the trio and rushed them to a nearby hospital where doctors declared the couple dead while their critically injured son was shifted to a private hospital for further treatment.
A team of cops from the Jagatpur police station reached at the spot after getting information about the accident and started an investigation.
