Hanging Body Of Woman Recovered In Keonjhar District Of Odisha

Keonjhar: In a shocking incident, the hanging body of a woman has been recovered from Nuagaon village under Ramchandrapur police limits in Anandapur town at Keonjhar district of Odisha on Monday night.

The deceased has been identified as Jhili, wife of Purnachadra Raut of the village.

According to reports, Jhili, daughter of Sudarshan Jena of Badibili village under Tamaka police limits in Jajpur district, was married to Purnachandra, son of Chaitanya Raut of Nuagaon village. Meanwhile, it has been alleged that she was being tortured by her in-laws as she had not got any dowry.

Jhili had gone to her paternal house for a month because of the dowry dispute with her in-laws. However, few days ago her father brought her back to her in-laws house and on the same night her hanging body was found from the backyard of the house.

Jhil’s in-laws alleged that she has committed suicide However, her paternal family lodged a complaint with Ramchandrapur police and alleged that she has been killed by her in-laws.

The cops arrived at the spot and have recovered the body.

After the death of Jhili her husband Purnachandra is missing, hence strengthening the doubt of murder due to dowry. However, no arrests have been made yet in relation with this case.
