Gunfire over previous enmity in Odisha leaves one critically injured

Dhenkanal: A prisoner released on a parole sustained bullet injuries after three persons fired at him today at Chauliajharana village under Parajang Police Station limits in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district.

According to the reports, the injured jail inmate who was released on a parole has been identified as Arjun Soren of Baunsamunda village.

Soren was unitedly attacked by four criminals near Chauliajharana village while he was returning to home with groceries from Jhilii village weekly market. The miscreants surrounded him and fired three rounds of bullets at him. Foll

Soren sustained bullet injuries on his back, hips and hand following which he was rushed to Kamakhayanagar Hospital for treatment. Later, he was transferred to Dhenkanal district headquarter hospital.

According to police’s primary investigation, the firing had occurred due to the previous enmity.

As per reports, on August 25, 2011, Rahul allegedly murder a person for extra marital affair in Chauliajharana village for which he was in-prison for 10 years.

Police have started an investigation into the matter.
