Balangir: A model who has won many accolades as well as titles by taking part in beauty pageants has stepped into politics in Odisha after leaving behind her glamour world. The beautiful girl, who once was walking on the ramp, is now seen walking on the kaccha roads of her village in Balangir district to beg votes for her.
Priyanka Nanda from Dhulusar village in Balangir district has contested for the post of Sarpanch in Chudapali block. She was studying in Bhopal. Later she entered into modelling.
When I was coming to the village I had seen the problems of people. I have understood the issues of the people. Hence, finally I decided to enter politics so that I can do something for the development of the village and villagers, Priyanka Nanda said.
After completing her Primary Education in the village Priyanka Nanda moved to Bhopal. Since 2015 she is working as a model. She took part in the first India Runway Diva Beauty contest and stood fifth. In 2020 she won the Indian Style Icon beauty pageant. Later on she was trying to create a niche for herself in Bollywood. Yet, she has now joined politics.
