Forester In Nayagarh Of Odisha Caught Red-Handed While Accepting Bribe
Nayagarh: Forester working in Wildlife division of Chhamundia section in Nayagarh district of Odisha has been caught red handed by the officers of Vigilance Bhubaneswar Division.
The forester has been identified as Golakh Bihari Behera. He was caught while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 35,000/- (Rupees Thirty Five Thousand) from complainant Pushpanjali Panda working as Forest guard in Chhamundia Forest Beat House.
Behera demanded the bribe to minimize the consequences of the show cause by supporting her and influencing the DFO. The handwash gave positive chemical reaction so did his pant pocket.
His house at Padmabati village under Fategarh Police limits of Nayagarh is being searched. The forester has been arrested and forwarded to the Court.
The bribe money was recovered from the accused in presence of witnesses. A case has been registered under the Bhubaneswar Vigilance and is under investigation.
