Forest officials seize 3 Sal wood laden vehicles in Jajpur

Jajpur: Tightening the noose around the necks of timber mafias, forest officials seized at least three sal wood laden vehicles from Kundula village under Chandikhole area today.

The raid was conducted after Jajpur forest officials got a tip-off on at least three vehicles which were carrying timber consignments last night. After intercepting the vehicles at Kundula Chhak on NH-16, this morning the officials seized the logs.

However, all the persons who were boarding the vehicles at the time of raid, managed to escape from the spot.

The seized logs were being smuggled from the neighbouring State Jharkhand to Bhubaneswar, said a source.

Further investigation by forest department is underway in the case.
