Berhampur: At least six persons were injured and three of them were critical after a scuffle erupted between two families over a long-standing dispute in Golgandapalli village under Rambha police limits in the district on Thursday.
The injured have been identified as Pandab Patra, his wife and four others of his family.
The attack took place at Patra’s house in the morning while all the members of his family were busy in daily chores. A group of men from the village reached his home and attacked the members with sticks and other weapons leaving six of them injured on the spot. The miscreants fled the spot immediately after the attack.
Some neighbours rushed the injured to Rambha Community Health Centre (CHC) soon after the incident. Three of them were later shifted to MKCG Medical in Berhampur due to deteriorating condition.
While Rambha Police reached the hospital and lodged a case in the incident, no arrest had been made in the case till this report was being filed.
