Fake Naval officer held in Odisha’s Cuttack

Cuttack: A youth was arrested in Cuttack of Odisha on Wednesday on the charge of defrauding a youth posing as a Naval officer. After the victim complained about the matter Chauliaganj Police swung into action and nabbed the culprit.

The accused has been identified as Soumyaranjan Mishra.

As per reports, the accused lured a youth from Mahanadi Vihar of Cuttack to provide him a top job posing as a Naval officer. As per complaint he also posed as the son of a senior Police personnel.

Soumya reportedly falsely assured the youth of providing him the position of a second officer in Merchant Navy to be posted at Sarjah of Dubai. The fake Naval officer also lured him to arrange US Visa to the complainant.

After the matter was complained, Chauliaganj Police started investigation and arrested the culprit. Police also seized a car, fake Navy uniform and Rs 33,800 from the possession of the accused.

Last month a fake doctor had been detained in Khordha for treating a patient though he had not any valid document proving his medical degree.

In September a fake teacher had been arrested for grabing the teacher job by submitting duplicate documents. He was working for the last 10 years as an assistant teacher at Government Higher Primary School Nilakanthapada.
