Bhubaneswar: Retired IAS officer Ashwini Baishnab, who is the BJP candidate for Rajya Sabha joined the saffron party at its State headquarters here today.
Odisha BJP president Basant Panda, senior leader Samir Mohanty and Golak Mohapatra welcomed the ex-bureaucrat to the party fold by offering bouquet.
BJP had declared Baishnab as its candidate to Rajya Sabha yesterday to which BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik has extended his support. Naveen’s support came post a discussion with PM Narendra Modi earlier.
The by-elections to three Rajya Sabha seats in Odisha will be held on July 5. The counting of votes will take place at 5 pm on the same day.
