Election 2019: Inter State Police Coordination Meeting held at Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar:  Odisha Police which wants to leave no stone unturned in preparing for the upcoming general elections, held an Inter State Coordination Meeting with its counterparts from five neighbouring states here today.

Top cops of Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Telangana and West Bengal attended the meeting which was held at Odisha DGP Camp Office.

Addressing at the meeting, which is underway, Odisha DGP RP Sharma led emphasis on interstate cooperation during upcoming election to tackle challenges posed by left wing extremists. Sharma who chaired the meeting  anticipated Maoist violence in the coming days and told the police officials of other states to share intelligence inputs in this connection.

As per the sources, during the meeting the cops also discussed on several others aspects like checking illegal fund inflow for poll expenditure and movement of criminals into each other’s territory as well as drug trafficking.

Along with Sharma Additional Chief Secretary of Home Department Asit Tripathy, CRPF IGP (Odisha), BSF IGP (Odisha) AK Singh and Intelligence DIGP Amresh Mishra among others were present at the meeting.
