Driver burnt alive after trailer catches fire after hitting truck in Jajpur

Jajpur: A driver of a trailer was burnt alive after the vehicle caught fire following collision with stationary truck near Bhalukhai under Dharmasala police limits in Jajpur district of Odisha on Wednesday. The blaze has been brought under control by the fire service personnel.

Meanwhile, the truck helper has sustained critical injuries in the mishap.

According to sources, an iron rod-laden trailer collided with a truck standing at the road side of NH due to a tyre puncture. Following the collision, the front part of the trailer caught fire in which the driver, who is suspected to have been squashed in the cabin after the accident, was burnt alive.

The critically injured helper of the truck has been admitted to the nearest hospital for treatment.

The fire service personnel have brought the fire under control and are trying to move the vehicles from the road. The Dharmasala police have reached the spot and is investigating the incident.
