Dengue patient dies at SCB; toll reaches 3 in Odisha

dengueCuttack: The dengue death toll in the state jumped to three on Saturday with one more patient dying at the SCB Medical College Hospital (SCB) here.

The deceased has been identified as Sanatan Nayak of Bhimpara village in Keonjhar district.

According to hospital sources, Sanatan was admitted in the Dengue ward of SCB on August 7 after being detected positive with the vector-borne disease. He had been shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of hospital on August 12 after his condition deteriorated.

Notably, 44 patients with positive Dengue serology are currently being treated at the SCB medical out of whom three have been lodged at the ICU due to critical condition. Out of 4193 serology samples tests conducted in the state so far, 427 have been found positive. A majority of cases have been reported from Cuttack (102), Bhadrak (86), Balasore (51), and Jajpur (49).
