Bhubaneswar: A death in deaddiction centre in Bhubaneswar under suspicious conditions has allegedly taken place on Tuesday, said reliable reports.

It has been alleged that the death in the deaddiction center in Bhubaneswar took place due to severe beating up of the inmate, said reliable reports.

The incident has allegedly taken place in a deaddiction centre in Dhauli area of Bhubaneswar, the capital city of Odisha.

The deceased has been identified as Kalu Nayak of Jharasahi area in Bhubaneswar. He has allegedly been beaten to death.

The Dhauli police has reached the spot said reliable reports and is investigating into the matter. Charges have been pressed against the deaddiction/rehabilitation centre.

The police has started and investigation in this regard and has obtained the CCTV footage and has detained the owner of the centre. The scientific team has also reached the spot.

The police has further informed that action shall be taken after the postmortem report is provided to the police. Kalu was an inmate of the deaddiction center since three months, said reports.

His family could not contact him on phone because it was against the rules of that rehabilitation centre, said reliable reports.

The police is investigating into all aspects of the case, further detailed reports awaited.
