COVID vaccine: People dare heavy rainfall, stand in queue from midnight for vaccination in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Union Health Ministry informed that more than one crore COVID-19 vaccination doses were administered on Friday. This was the highest ever vaccination achieved in a single day. On the other hand, hundreds of people in Odisha’s Balasore district were seen standing in queue for hours for taking jabs today.

According to sources, the health workers of Soro hospital in Balasore district were slated to administer COVID vaccines for the people in the 18-44 age groups today.

Only 140 first doses and 60 doses for people above 45-year-old were available. However, people dared heavy rainfall and stood in a long queue from midnight to get vaccinated as on-spot registration for the same was done, added sources.
