Jajpur: A couple rescued today in critical condition near the Pankapal area in Jajpur of Odisha. Both the man and his wife sustained grievous injuries after the bike they were riding in was hit by a truck carrying mineral ore. Unfortunately, adding woes to it, the payload of the truck caved in on the couple and the duo was buried neck down in chromite.
As per reports, the bike-borne couple was hit by a speeding, chromite laden tipper truck. As a result of the accident, the truck overturned and the payload was poured on the couple. However, they were buried neck-deep under the iron ore dune.

Some locals present on the spot rushed to them and rescued them. Later, the victims were rushed to a nearby hospital. However, their condition was still critical until the report was written.
After getting information about the accident police reached the site and launched a manhunt. However, till then the truck driver reportedly had fled from the scene.
