Condoles from all walks of life poured-in for eminent Odia music director and lyricist Swaroop Nayak, who breathed his last earlier today.
Bhubaneswar: Condolences from all walks of life poured-in for eminent Odia music director and lyricist Swaroop Nayak, who breathed his last earlier today.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Kandhamal MP Achyuta Samanta, Director of Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI)-Kolkata Himansu Sekhar Khatua were among many others who condoled the death of the famous Odia music director and lyricist.
Taking to his Twitter handle Patnaik said, “I am saddened to know about the demise of noted music director and lyricist Swaroop Nayak. His unique music compositions will always occupy a special place in the hearts of music lovers. He will be remembered forever for his valuable contribution to enriching the world of Odia cinema. May his soul rest in peace and my condolences to the bereaved family members.”

Likewise, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on his ‘X’ handle said, “I am saddened to hear the news of the death of prominent music director, lyricist and actor Swaroop Nayak. He made a mark in music direction. He has contributed a lot to the world of Odia film and music. Odisha lost a brilliant star in the Odia music industry. May his soul rest in peace. I express deep condolences to the bereaved family.”

Achyuta Samanta and Himansu Sekhar Khatua also expressed their deep grief over the demise of Swaroop Nayak.

Swaroop Nayak was the music director of ‘Kathantara’ film directed by Himansu Khatua. Besides, he had lent his voice for the movie which was produced by Kadambini Media Pvt. Ltd.
It is to be noted here that Swaroop Nayak passed away at the age of 76 while undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Cuttack. His last rites will be performed in Cuttack tomorrow.
