Bhadrak: Tightening the noose around the necks of illegal coal miners, police seized a coal-laden truck after conducting a raid under Chudamani Marine Police Station area in Bhadrak district last night.
As per the report, a night patrolling team of Chudamani Marine Police was engaged on vehicle check at Coast Canal Chhak late in the night when a pickup van tried to escape by evading it. Though the cops managed to intercept the vehicle later, the driver fled from the spot.
During the search inside the vehicle, police found a huge cache of coal suspected to have been stolen from Dhamra Port were recovered and seized.
A manhunt has been launched to trace the absconding driver.
