CM to visit Jharsuguda, Rourkela today to launch a slew of projects

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will go on a visit to Jharsuguda and Rourkela today to inaugurate a slew of projects which includes the 3rd and 4th units of Odisha Power Generation Corporation (OPGC) at Banharpali.

As per a communique from CMO, the newly inaugurated units of OPGC will add an additional 1,320 MW electricity for Odisha. The project set up with a budget of Rs 11, 547 crores took five years to get completed.

The CM had announced for the OPGC new units on February 23, 2014.

Later in the afternoon, Naveen will visit Sundergarh district and land at Rourkela Aerodrome Ground to address a massive gathering and distribute monetary assistance to KALIA beneficiaries of at least 17 blocks. He would launch a total of 42 projects worth Rs 635 cr during the visit which includes inauguration of 23 projects set up at a whopping budget of Rs 336 cr.

While Odisha Government owned Odisha Coal and Power Limited (OCPL) mine at Manoharpali and STI overbridge will be inaugurated by the CM today, foundation stone will be laid for Kuanrmunda bridge to be constructed over Koel river.

Administrations of both the districts have made ample security arrangements in view of the CM visit.
