Briefing on the attack earlier in the day India Defence Secretary Foreign Secretary Vijay K. Gokhale had informed that, the attack was aimed at number of JeM terrorists, trainers, senior commanders staying at the Balakot camps which was located located in deep forest on a hilltop. The target was also conditioned by India’s desire to avoid civilian casualty, he added.
Notably, at least 12 Mirage 2000 jets took part in the attack which carried out at around 3.30 am in the night. Around 1000 kg bombs were dropped on the camps across Line of Control (LoC). It is suspected that 200-300 terror mongers were killed in today’s attack.
