CM Naveen Patnaik launches Air Health Services at Bhubaneswar Airport

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the Mukhyamantri Bayu Swasthya Seva (Air Health Services) at Bhubaneswar’s Biju Patnaik International Airport today, informed State Health Minister Naba Das. Reportedly, the inauguration ceremony took place at Bhubaneswar Airport.

The Mukhyamantri Bayu Swasthya Seva (Air Health Services) has been inaugurated for a better health care facility which will become a milestone in Odisha’s healthcare system. The inaugural ceremony was attended by Health Minister Naba Das, Chief Secretary Suresh Mohapatra, 5T Secretary V Karthik Pandian, and senior officials.

Initially, the services will be available in Kalahandi, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, and Nuapada, while other districts will further be included in the scheme, added reports. If required critical patients will be airlifted to Bhubaneswar & Cuttack, added Minister Naba Das.

Under the new scheme, critical patients will be airlifted to the district headquarter hospitals. Doctors will also visit patients in remote and inaccessible areas through air health services.

It is to be noted that a team of doctors from S.C.B. Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack went to Malkangiri district after the Mukhyamantri Bayu Swasthya Seva was inaugurated.

The newly inaugurated Air Health Services is said to be a historic decision.

All the qualified and reputed doctors from various medical colleges and corporate hospitals will fly to the hospitals in these four districts and treat the patients with cardiovascular, neurological, kidney, and bladder diseases as per the pre-arranged schedule. The State government will bear all the costs for the same.
