CM lays foundation stone for Odisha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre in Baranga

Bhubaneswar: CM Naveen Patnaik today laid the foundation stone for the Odisha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre at Ratagarh in Baranga in the presence of Ratan Tata, Chairman of Tata Trusts and State Health Minister Pratap Jena.

The centre to be set up in assistance from Tata Trusts, is expected to provide world class cancer care facility to the people of the state with 500 beds and all specialized treatments.

Odisha Government has provided 25 acres of land free of cost for the project following a MoU signed with Tata Trusts in May 2018.

“I am truly delighted that the Tata Memorial Hospital is coming to Odish. I thank Mr Ratan Tata in his personal involvement in the project. In our commitment to provide comprehensive, affordable and accessible cancer care to the people of Odisha. The state-of-the-art cancer care centre of the Tata Trust is another stepping stone towards provision of comprehensive cancer care and research facility in Odisha. Odisha Government has provided land free of cost for the centre. We are committed to provide world class cancer care treatment and with this centre we have come a step closer towards this goal,” Said the CM while addressing at the program.

Among others, MP Bhartruhari Mahtab and Banki MLA Pravat Tripathy were present on the occasion.
