Chariot construction work for Rath Yatra 2022 commences in Odisha’s Puri

Puri: After the special worship that was performed yesterday on the occasion of Akshay Trutiya for commencement of the Chariot construction in Puri of Odisha, today the Ratha Khala, the yard where the three chariots will be erected on the grand road, came into action. The Viswakarmas were seen working with the wood logs.

A per reports, the Viswakarmas started the ‘Chirata’ work today for construction of the chariots.

Yesterday, after the ‘Angyamala Bije’, that is coming up of the garland of nod, to the Ratha Khala, the ‘Sadhibandha’ ritual was performed. Then, the ‘Ratha Nirmana Anukula’ was done with a golden axe.

For construction of the three chariots, which will roll on the grand road on July 1 this year on the occasion of the annual sojourn of Lord Jagannath and His siblings, 785 pieces of wood logs are required. Out of that 616 pieces of wood logs have already arrived in Puri.
