Bus rams into roadside shop in Balangir, locals stage protest

Balangir: In a narrow escape, a number of passengers were rescued unhurt after a bus carrying them rammed into a roadside shop at Kandhabahal village under Kantabanji police limits in Balangir district today.

The bus namely, Sarala bearing registration number OD O2 AU 8199 was en-route to RaJ Khariar area in Nuapada district from the state capital Bhubaneswar when the mishap took place in the wee hours.

After the driver of the vehicle lost control over the wheels due to some reason it veered off the road in Kandhabahal and rammed into a shop to damage it and later get stuck to a nearby tree.

While nobody was present in the shop at the time of the crash, valuable lives were shaved at the spot.

Irate local staged a demonstration at the spot protesting the accident due to which a number of vehicles remain stranded on the roads for quite some time.

Kantabanji Police rushed to the spot and pacified the mob to restore normalcy.
