BSF organises Blood Donation Camp in Odisha’s Koraput

Koraput: To mark the World Blood Donor Day, the Border Security Force (BSF) on Friday organised a blood donation camp in collaboration with Department of Blood Transfusion of Saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital here in Odisha.

BSF, Sector Head Quarter, Koraput Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Pankaj Kumar Mishra inaugurated the event and expressed gratitude to the blood donors for voluntary blood donation.

BSF Commandant S S Panwar and other BSF officials donated blood in the camp and motivated others to save others’ life by donating blood. Around 68 units of blood were collected till the last report came in.

Locals said, such generous act by BSF personnel will certainly help the victims of road accidents, cancer patients, women with complicated pregnancies among others in the SLN Medical and Hospital.

The BSF, raised on December 1, 1965, has earned a formidable reputation as an elite and professional organisation by dint of its hard work, devotion and sacrifice while serving the nation.
