BJD celebrates its 21st foundation day today

Bhubaneswar: The ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD), the party named after legendary politician and former Chief Minister of Odisha late Biju Patnaik, is celebrating its 21st foundation day today.

The main function will be celebrated at the party head quarters office here, where BJD President and Odisha Chief minister Naveen Patnaik will address the party activists.

In the last two decades, BJD’s strength has grown in every passing year, winning almost all major elections.

The party has now geared up for 2019 Assembly elections and Lok Sabha polls.

BJD supremo has urged the party MPs and MLAs to donate their one-month salary to the party fund to make the party financially strong ahead of the 2019 polls.

Opposition Congress has however decided to observe it as ‘black day’, while the BJP is going to roll out raths (vehicles as chariots) seeking answers from the state government on several questions.
