Jajpur: Tension prevailed in Korei village under Korei police limits in Jajpur district last night after a biker was thrashed mercilessly and his motorcycle was torched after hitting and injuring at least three persons due to reckless driving.
The accused has been identified as Alu Sibram of Telenga slum of the same locality.
As per the report, Sibram was en-route to home after completing some assignment in a neighbouring village when ended up hitting at least three labourers on the road near Korei playground.
Fumed over the incident, some bystanders nabbed and thrashed the accused mercilessly on the spot while another person who was riding pillion on his bike managed to escape.
Later, the injured labourer trio namely Buddhiram Jena, Dusasan Sethi and Gourang Sahu were rushed to Jajpur Road Community Health Centre (CHC) post the incident in an injured state.
Korei Police reached the spot and sent the accused biker to hospital later in the night.
