Biju Patnaik’s 102nd birth anniversary observed in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The 102nd birth anniversary of legendary leader and former Odisha Chief Minister Biju Patnaik was observed in the state on Monday.
On this occasion, a mini-marathon was held from Forest Park to Kalinga Stadium here. Sports and Youth Services Minister Chandra Sarathi Behera flagged-off the mini-marathon where hundreds of people of different age groups took part in three categories.
Athagarh MLA Ranendra Pratap Swain also flagged-off a mini-marathon in Cuttack city. The birth anniversary of Biju Patnaik is also being observed as the Panchayati Raj Divas throughout the state.
The state government also launched ‘Ama Gaon, Ama Bikas’ programme to reach out to the people in rural areas to involve them in the developmental activities.
Biju’s son and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik interacted with the elected representatives of Panchayati Raj institutions and general public via video conferencing on this occasion. Besides, he also took to twitter to remember Biju Patnaik on his birth anniversary.
