Beware! Speed limits of vehicles fixed, know in details to avoid fine

Bhubaneswar: The State Transport Authority (STA) has reportedly fixed speed limits of different classes of vehicles on the roads of Odisha.

The State Transport Authority of Odisha has fixed the speed limits with an aim to check road accidents across the State.

“In exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 112 of Motor Vehicle Act, 1988 read with sub-rule (1) (a) of rule 173 of Odisha Motor Vehicles Rules, 1993 fixes the maximum speed in respect of the class of motor vehicles as specified below,” said the STA in a notification.

It is to be noted here that the maximum speed limit is fixed per hour in kilometers on all National and State Highways in Odisha.
