Beneficiaries make PDS Control dealer to walk 3 km for stopping ration supply in Odisha’s Balasore dist

Balasore: Finding no other way to get the food and other items provided by the Government through the Public Distribution System (PDS) in the State, some beneficiaries of Balasore district made the Control dealer to walk for three kilometres.

The dealer had allegedly discontinued supply of the Control items for four months. The incident took place in the Khunta area under Soro Block of Balasore district in Odisha.

As per reports, the PDS Control dealer named Bijendra Prasad Das had not supplied the ration and other items for the last four months. Being aggrieved with this, the villagers cum beneficiaries along with the Sarpanch took the dealer away to the Panchayat where he was asked why the distribution of ration and other PDS items was stopped for last 4 months.

It has also been learned that earlier too, the same PDS Control dealer had been made to walk for discontinuing supply of ration.
