Bear attack triggers fear in Nuapada

Nuapada : As many as two persons of Larki village under Komna block in the district suffered  injuries after being attacked by a bear on Friday morning, triggering a sense of panic among locals.

The injured persons have been identified as Yad Biswal and Srinibas Nial of the village. They were rushed to Komna CHC for their treatment and later shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital here

According to reports, a wild bear mauled Biswal and Nial while they were going towards the agricultural fields near the village forest. Both were wounded in their legs, hands and backside of their body.

Meanwhile, Forest officials reached the spot and started investigation in this connection. Villagers have urged forest department to bear the medical expenses of the injured.
