Be aware! Covid is changing its symptoms, warns Health Director

Bhubaneswar: The deadly Covid-19 virus has changed its symptoms now, said Health Director Bijay Kumar Mohapatra. Adding much to the agony, people suffering from mild cold and fever are also being detected positive with Covid-19 virus. Hence, it is important to go for a RT-PCR test as soon as an individual suffers from such symptoms.

If one individual conducts the Covid test with similar symptoms and tests negative, it can eventually save as many as 30 people, added Health Director.

He also said that there is no need to worry about infections in Sundargarh and Burla. The area has been declared a containment zone post the outbreak was reported in VIMSAR and Sundargarh. Nobody from outside will be allowed to move out or move into the zone.

He added that as since the infected students have been living together in hostel room, the infection rate increased. The hostel has been kept under special surveillance and the infection will come under control within 4 to 5 days.

The state government, the health department and the district administration have been put on high alert. However, the severity rate in Covid positive patients is less due to which the people need not panic.

Nowadays, the people outside are not following the Covid protocol which can worsen the situation in near future. Hence, it is necessary to keep a check on the rules. Health Director has further advised the people not move out of homes unless much needed.
