Angul: Angry villagers killed a wild boar in retaliation after it attacked and injured at least three persons including one woman in Sapoinali village under Chhendipada Forest Range in the district on Monday.
The bore attack took place in the morning while the locals in the village were busy in their daily chores. A wild boar which had sneaked into the village and was moving discreetly first pounced on a woman and bit her. Later it chased and bit two more people in the village.
However, the villagers immediately swung into action and started attacking the bore with the help of dogs to kill the animal on the spot.
The victims were rushed to Chhendipada Medical in a 108 ambulance following the incident where their condition is stated to be out of danger.
The forest officials have reached the village and seized the carcass of the bore.
