After giving Diwali gifts to its employees by the central government, the Tamil Nadu government has now given a big gift to the government employees. The state government has announced a Diwali bonus of Rs 210.48 crore for 2.91 lakh PSU employees. PSU companies struggled to sustain their growth due to the Corona epidemic. Now this Diwali gift has brought relief for government employees.

About 2.91 lakh employees of the state government will benefit from the Diwali bonus. The state government has said in a statement that 8.33 per cent bonus and additional 1.67 per cent will be paid to the workers and employees working in all the profit / loss public sector undertakings of Group ‘C’ and ‘D’ category.

Permanent workers will receive a bonus and additional grant of Rs 8,400. Hundreds of state-owned factories, as well as the state Department of Transportation, have been badly affected by the lockdown caused by the global epidemic corona virus since March. This decision of the government will bring some relief to these PSU employees and provide them an opportunity to celebrate the festival in a dignified way with their family.

The press release issued by the government said that the hard work of the employees plays an important role in accelerating the economic growth of the country. It is his hard work that the country is moving towards excellent economic development. The statement issued by the government said that the lockdown caused by COVID-19 has affected the functioning of all business entities, including state PSUs and statutory boards.

In the last six months, the income of many other companies including Tamil Nadu Transport Corporation, Power Generation and Tea Plantation Corporation, Distribution Corporation have declined due to lack of public transport and factories. The government said that it has been ensured that all these employees received full pay amid the epidemic.

It is noteworthy that LTA Cash Voucher Scheme and Festival Advance Scheme for Central employees have been announced by the Central Government in October. The government believes that due to the transfer of cash in the hands of employees, the money will come in the market and the economy will gain momentum due to increasing demand.
