5-Member NSG Team To Check Security At Odisha Puri Jagannath Temple

Puri: A five-member team of the National Security Guard (NSG) will be coming to Odisha on the March 18 to inspect the security of the famous Jagannath temple in Puri.

They will oversee the security of the shrine. NSG will ensure that the shrine is protected from the terrorists. Given the fact that, the Jagannath Temple and Puri are popular Hindu religious places of worship.

They can be particularly be targeted by terrorist organizations such as the Indian Mujahideen and Lashkar-e-Toiba.

Now that the 75-meter security corridor of the shrine has been created, the administration of the shrine and the state government will inform the NSG about the new system and security guidelines.

The NSG has written to the temple administration, archeology department and the state government in this regard. Now 10 platoon forces have been deployed to protect the shrine.

The NSG will further discuss stronger security measures that can be undertaken.
