Balangir: On Saturday, 48 victims of bonded labour, including 23 women and 8 children were rescued by Kantabanji police.
The operation was carried out based on a tip-off when the police intercepted the labourers who were being carried out in auto and pickup van to the Kantabaji Railway station by the Dadan Sardar to engage them at a brick factory in Hyderabad.
The labourers belong to Barpali,Sinapali,Balangir and Buden areas.
The Dadan Sardar managed to flee from the spot.
