Malkangiri: At least three persons including two women went missing in Sabari river near Niliguda village under Padia block of Malkangiri district last evening.
The missing women have been identified as Dine Kobasi and Mallika Kobasi, both daughters of Raja Kobasi of Kumbharguda village. The name of the other victim is not known.
As per the report, the victim woman duo along with a village youth had been to the house of their relative in Chhattisgarh yesterday morning. They were returning home in a local hand-made boat in the evening when the same overturned in Sabari river due to the prevailing high tide.
After being information on the mishap, a joint team of ODRAF and fire services personnel rushed to the spot and started the rescue operation.
The rescue team was empty-handed till last reports came in.
