Phulbani: Three persons, a mother, and her two minor daughters were charred to death today morning. The fateful incident took place at Magarpada village under G Udayagiri block in Kandhamal district.
As per reports, the victim woman named Jhulima Pradhan (26) was cooking food for the family when the fire broke out. The victims are the wife and two minor daughters – Sonali and Rupali of one Bimal Pradhan of Magarpada village.
As per the report, today morning Bimal went to work to the nearest hill at about 8 am. After some time he got news that his house has caught fire. The neighbours first witnessed the fire and called others for help. Fire brigade rushed to the spot and doused the fire. However, till then the three were already charred to death.
While the reason for the fire accident is yet be ascertained, the locals believe it to be a well-planned murder. Police have reached the spot and started an investigation.
Police have detained Bimal for inquiry.
