270 gms brown sugar seized in capital city of Odisha, 2 arrested

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Police seized 270 gms of brown sugar in Bhubaneswar under the banner of white spider operation and successfully arrested two persons in connection with this case.

Reportedly, one of the arrested accused has been identified as Abinash Lenka (33), son of Purna Chandra Lenka of Majhi Sahi, Laxmisagar.

Acting on a tip-off, Laxmisagar police conducted a raid in the area and arrested two drug dealers from the spot. The cops also seized 270 gms of brown sugar from their possession.

Similarly on August 16 in another massive drug haul, the Special Task Force Bhubaneswar seized 2 kg 402 gms of brown sugar from Jaleswar Market in Balasore district of Odisha and arrested three people in this connection.

It is noteworthy of that the white spider initiative was launched by Commissionerate Police with a motive to make Bhubaneswar a drug-free city.

The initiative has been taken to prevent street crimes, especially for the youths in slum areas who are involved in various crimes by consuming drugs. It was found that maximum of the youths involved in the crimes are drug addicts.
