Bhubaneswar: DG Police, Dr RP Sharma on Tuesday dismissed an ‘intelligence report’ circulated by a political party and termed it as ‘forged’. An FIR is also being filed over the circulation of a fake and fabricated letter in the name of State Intelligence Branch ahead of polls in the state.
Taking to Twitter, DGP, Odisha denied the report and said that an FIR is being registered pertaining to the matter.
“A fake document purported to be assessment report of some Assembly segments by Odisha Police Intelligence Department has been shown in a press meet by a political party. The document is absolutely fake and fabricated. An FIR is being registered in this matter,” it tweeted.
Later, a press note was also released which stated that stringent legal action is being initiated against the people responsible for defaming the police department by circulating a fake document.
It also advised people to refrain from circulating such fabricated reports.
