1749 Covid Positive cases recorded in Twin City of Odisha on Friday

Bhubaneswar: 1749 Covid-19 positive cases has been recorded in Odisha’s capital city today. As on January 14, Bhubaneswar recorded 1148 positive cases while Cuttack city  reported 601 new Covid-19 cases.

According to reports by Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), out of the total 1148 positive cases registered today, 54 cases are quarantine cases while 1094 cases are local contact cases.

With today’s development the total Covid-19 positive cases have increased to 1,30,982. The recovered cases are 1,23,366. The total deceased cases are 1103. At present, the active Covid-19 cases in Bhubaneswar stand at 6492.

In the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC area) 601 new Covid-19 cases were registered. While 88 cases were Institutional quarantine cases, 247 cases were home quarantine cases. As many as 266 local contact cases were recorded today.

The total cases in CMC are 49,420 while the recovered cases are 45,838. Active cases today are 3153 while the deaths are 429.

The recovered cases in BMC and CMC on January 14 are 208 and 111 respectively.

Odisha on Friday reported a huge spike in Covid cases with 10,273 positive cases including 3496 from Khordha have been detected in the last 24 hours.

The total cases include 1065 in the 0-18 years age group have been found, informed the Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Department.

Among the 10,273 positives, 5962 are quarantine cases and 4311 are local contacts. There are a total of 53,171 active cases. The new recoveries stand at 1447. The positivity rate stands at 13.56%.
