16-feet-long King Cobra rescued in Odisha’s Dhenkanal: Watch

Dhenkanal: Two huge King Cobras were rescued on Friday from near a temple in Kapilas area of Dhenkanal district of Odisha. One of the snakes is 16 feet long while the other is 14 feel long.

As per reports, the two huge snakes were rescued from near the Dattatreya temple in Kapilas area of the district. After getting information about presence of these snakes in the temple area, the snake catchers rushed to the spot and rescued the reptiles. The snake catchers’ team constituted of Shaikh Lalu, John Kumar Malla, Papuni Das, Suryakant Behera and Shankar Naik.

Later the two snakes were released at a lonely place in the Tapoban forest area under Kapilas Forest range.

It has been anticipated that the snakes might have lurked into the human habitat to drink water after scarcity of water was felt in the jungle

It is to be noted that two years ago another huge King Cobra had been rescued from the pipe of the this temple’s kitchen.
