Mohana: As many as 12 people were injured in a bus accident at Christpur village of Gajapati district in Odisha today. The bus was destined to Cuttack from Rayagada when it met with the accident.
A total of 30 passengers were on board when the accident took place. At least 12 passengers were injured which included four persons who were in critical condition.
The reason behind the accident is suspected to be overspeeding. The driver of the bus managed to flee after the mishap.
On receiving the information, police reached the accident spot and rescued the victims. The minor injured were sent to Mohana Health Centre by an ambulance, while the critically injured passengers were admitted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur.
The local police are still investigating the matter in order to get further details about the accident. Besides, a search operation to trace the driver of the vehicle is underway.
