1 labourer dead, 10 hurt in auto-rickshaw overturn in Nabarangpur

Umerkote: At least one labourer was killed and 10 others sustained injuries after an auto-rickshaw carrying them overturned following an accident near Kuamba under Kuhudi panchayat in Nabarangpur last night.

The deceased has been identified as Akala Gouda of Mathurapada village. He was working as a daily wager in the area.

The mishap took place late last night while the victims were returning home in an auto-rickshaw after completing work in a nearby village. It is suspected that the driver of the vehicle failed to spot the road due to fog and lost control over it, following which the overturn took place.

All the injured have been rushed to Chandahandi Community Health Centre (CHC).

Police have started investigation into the incident after sending the deceased for autopsy.
