Soro: At least one person was killed and two others sustained critical injuries after the motorcycle they were travelling by met with an accident at Brahmanipokhari under Khaira police limits last night.
The deceased has been identified as Rakesha Behera. He was working as a security guard at Kupari Branch of State Bank of India (SBI).
Rakesh along with two of his friends had been to a nearby village yesterday to attend a marriage feast and was returning home late in the night when the mishap took place. It is suspected that, driver of an unknown vehicle failed to spot their bike in the dark and ended up dashing against it near Brahmanipokhari.
While Rakesh died on the spot after felling from the bike, the rest two was rushed to Khaira Hospital for treatment by local fire officials.
Police have lodged a case in connection with the incident after seizing the mangled bike and started investigation.
