India to take on West Indies in 1st T-20I at Eden Gardens tomorrow

Kolkata: India takes on West Indies in the first Twenty20 International encounter at the Eden Gardens here on Sunday.

The Indian team will be led by Rohit Sharma while Rishabh Pant has been given an opportunity in place of M S Dhoni.

The last time India played an international match without either Virat Kohli or MS Dhoni, with neither injured, was during the Nidahas Trophy in Sri Lanka in March this year, that ended memorably victory against Bangladesh.

The Eden Gardens has been Rohit’s favourite venue that witnessed a world-record 264 against Sri Lanka in an ODI from his pillow.

West Indies, on the other hand, were supposed to have been fortified with the returns of Andre Russell, Kieron Pollard and Darren Bravo.
