South Africa won the toss and opted to bat first against India in the 2nd test match of Boxing Day Test in Cape Town. Meanwhile, team India have made 2 changes to the XI, aiming to bounce back from the hammering in the Boxing Day Test against the Proteas.

The team has dropped Shardul Thakur from their XI and added an extra pacer in Mukesh Kumar. Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja has returned to the XI by replacing off-spinner R Ashwin.

Rabindra Jadeja is going to play his first Test in 10 years in South Africa. Jadeja played a Test in South Africa last time in 2013.

In the first test match of the series, India slumped to their third-biggest defeat against the Proteas in Tests after losing by an innings and 32 runs within three days.
