In the much awaited final showdown of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, Australia has won the toss, and has opted to bowl against India. The final IND vs AUS final match is taking place at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad.

In the league stage of the tournament, India topped the points table with victories in all nine matches, while Australia finished third with seven wins out of nine games. In their previous encounter, India comfortably won by six wickets against Australia, chasing down a target of 201 runs in the 42nd over.

Notably, this is not the first time India and Australia are meeting in an ODI World Cup final. They clashed in the 2003 World cup final in South Africa. Therein, the Aussies, led by Ricky Ponting, claimed victory with a 125-run win over the Indian team led by Saurav Ganguly.

The Narendra Modi stadium pitch is known to favour batters but also provides support to spin bowlers. For the IND vs AUS match, the weather forecast for the final showdown looks promising. Rainfall is unlikely today, with humidity around 45 percent.
