CSK vs KKR: Ravindra Jadeja scripts IPL history with 1000 runs, 100 wickets and 100 catches
All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has scripted history of the Indian Premier League (IPL) with a unique record of 1000 runs, 100 wickets and 100 catches. In yesterday’s match between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders, Jadeja reached his feat with two catches and three wickets.
The all-rounder returned returned to form in the Indian Premier League 2024 with a terrific spell against KKR on Monday, April 8. Winning the Player of the match, Jadeja said, “I didn’t know that record, thank you! (1000 runs, 100 wickets and 100 catches). They both got the verified nickname (Dhoni and Raina), I need to ask someone to give me the verification!”
“Whenever I play on Chennai, I always enjoy my bowling. I was hoping, with the seam up, ball grips a bit here so I was trying to bowl in good areas, it does help you,” he further added.
It is worth mentioning here that Chennai Super Kings defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 7 wickets in yesterday’s match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 played at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
CSK won the toss and opted to bowl first. Batting first Kolkata Knight Riders made 137 runs by losing 9 wickets, of which Shreyas Iyer made 34 runs, Sunil Narine 27 runs and Angkrish Raghuvanshi hit 24 runs. While from Super Kings’ side, Jadeja took three wickets, meanwhile Tushar Deshpande also took three wickets and Mustafizur Rahman dropped two wickets.
Chasing the victory target of 138 runs, CSK made 141 runs losing three wickets. Of which Ruturaj Gaikwad made 67 runs, Shivam Dube made 28 runs and Daryle Mitchell made 25 runs. From KKR’s side Vaibhav Arora dropped two wickets, and Sunil Narine took 1 wicket.
Today, Punjab Kings are going to clash with Sunrisers Hyderabad at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mohali of Punjab. The match will begin at 7.30 pm.
