Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan ruled out of T20I series against India

Afghanistan’s star spinner Rashid Khan has been ruled out of the three-match T20 Internationals series against India.

Afghanistan’s star spinner Rashid Khan has been ruled out of the three-match T20 Internationals series against India, confirmed spinner Ibrahim Zadran. The series will begin on January 11.

The spinner underwent a minor lower-back surgery in the UK on November 24 and has been out of action since then.

“Rashid Khan is not totally fit, but is travelling with the team. We hope that he gets fit as soon as we expect him to. We will miss him in the series,” Zadran said in pre-match press conference.

“Without Rashid, we will struggle because his experience is crucial to all of us, but this is cricket and you need to be ready for any kind of situation,” he further added.

At the same time, cricketers Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan have been dropped out of the India 16-player squad for the series against Afghanistan.

According to reports, Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer have been dropped out of the game due on disciplinary grounds. Reportedly, the selectors might even not include the two in the squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
